★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit disappointing considering it is such a charming location, nestling down its own alley and equally well decorated. Food was mixed. An excellent risotto with abadejo but the leek tart with steak gave a distinct impression of having been heated in a microwave. Dessert of brownie was really nice. But service was so inattentive and then they charged 13% for it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ #RuellaBistrot was the most memorable place I have been in a long time, and you will understand why. Located in Vila Olímpia, in a narrow street that resembles the charming places in France. When we got there, and it was a surprise for me for my friend picked the spot, we were greeted by Andreia, the hostess, who accommodated us right the way. The bistro was packed with people and, yet, service was attentive, fast friendly and gentile. We started with sparkling wine, small Chandon Rose for her and Brut for me. They were perfectly chilled and the service was impeccable. We moved in to a couple of starters. She ordered a Shrimp-Shitake salad and for me a Salmon Tartare, which didn't take long to arrive at our table. The dishes we nicely presented and very tasty, although we believe the choux wrapping was a bit oversized. As we moved onto the mains, I took the chance in picking a white wine, considering our decision to keep within the seafood options. The choice was a Spanish cut, labled 99 Rosas, Un Vino de Lá Tierra de Castilla, assembled with Chardonnay and Viognier grapes. It was perfectly paired with our choice of dish. We shared a curried shrimp risotto garnished with a well balanced and tasty banana chutney. We enjoyed the dish but felt the Chef could have spiced it up a notch on the curry for we are spicy lovers. We didn't mind and understood the Chef's prudence in considering a notch up could not please the majority of patrons. We finished with coffee garnished with lemon "suspiros". Back to my first consideration about the place, it was perfect, with the perfect company in a perfect place. Yes, I am a romantic by nature, although, being a Chef myself, I really appreciated all the efforts by both the FOB and BOH teams in pleasing everyone and the atmosphere around every aspect of the experience we shared. There was even a marriage proposal scene, included therewith knee bending and rings exchange.
I really recommend the place and will most certainly return. Who knows, next time, may be I will be the one bending the knees and proposing. I love you A.S. Thanks for a memorable evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was ok. The appetizers were tasty, the duck was very well prepared, but the steak tartar was not well seasoned.
Service was terrible! Waiters did not listen to the women on the table, only took orders from men. We had to hold glasses to not be taken away early while we had wine in it. Food plates were taken before we were finished. Wait staff was slow and rude. Food was not good enough to make me come back.
