São Sebastião era um soldado romano que foi martirizado por professar e não renegar a fé em Cristo Jesus. Sua história é conhecida somente pelas atas romanas de sua condenação e martírio. Saint Sebastian was a Roman soldier who was martyred for professing and not denying faith in Christ Jesus. Its history is known only by the Roman acts of its condemnation and martyrdom. In these minutes of Christian martyrdom, the scribes wrote giving little details about the martyred and many details about the torture and suffering caused to them before they died. These minutes were exposed to the public in the cities in order to discourage adherence to Christianity.
