A arquitetura da Igreja assemelha-se ao estilo da arte romana do século XII e o altar-mor é todo trabalhado em madeira, onde se vê a imagem centenária da padroeira. Em 5 de novembro de 1999, depois de muitos estudos, pesquisas e comprovações de graças recebidas pela intercessão da santa e pelo fato de ser o primeiro templo do mundo consagrado a N.S. da Medalha Milagrosa, a Igreja Matriz é elevada a Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Medalha Milagrosa e atrai a atenção não somente dos fieis, mas de todos os turistas que passam pela cidade e têm a oportunidade de conhecer um dos pontos turísticos mais famosos daqui. Os visitantes que aqui chegam, também podem apreciar a bela imagem do Santuário, vista da Praça Prefeito Mário Zucato, tida como um verdadeiro cartão postal da cidade.
