This is where the urban legend of SlenderMan is. There's a drawing on the wall somewhere....

Many of the numerous rock shelters in the Serra da Capivara National Park are decorated with cave paintings, some more than 25,000 years old. They are an outstanding testimony to one of the oldest human communities of South America.

This is not a park of the people, it's controlled by dictators! Making nature lovers wearing a mask where there is lots of space and 40 degree heat! Most people are vaccinated and wearing a mask in a national nature reserve. And after leaving the park let's all go party in the pub (without a mask). Do these vacinnes not work then? I go to these parks to smell nature, breathe fresh air and soak up the energy nature connects us with. Not to breathe my own toxic CO2. And these council people working for the state enforcing all these ridiculous totalitarian rules should be ashamed of themselves with their "secure" jobs, whilst hard working good people lose their businesses. They're little puppets! One guide got suspended for a month because he let his clients take a picture without a mask. What a joke! For your health, yeah right. This is 1940 again people, wake up!

very interesting place with many preserved paintings. The service was not very good, they still need to improve.

It was so hard to find a guide because it is not organized for tourists especially when you don't stay in the accommodation with connection to the park. Going with a guide is required but I couldn't get an English speaking guide. But seeing ancient painting some of which are 15000 years ago was definitely interesting. And the view is great as well. I hope they make it easier to visit for everyone in the near future.

Amazing place very well structured for the tourists. The environmental conservation program done by the Park staff and the FUMDHAM are very well done. Access to the prehistoric sites is very easy and the trails and roads in the Park are in good state of conservation.

This is one of the places in the world that everybody should have the chance to go. The park is amazing - ancient paintings, amazing views, preserved nature and kind people. Not even us brazilians are used to know about it or go there - so, spread the word. There is infrastructure and even people with disabilities can visit some of the archeological sites.
