Unlike in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, in Olinda, admission to Carnival is free. All the festivities are celebrated on the streets, and there are no bleachers or roping. There are hundreds of small musical groups (sometimes featuring a single performer) in many genres

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect shopping center very close to the Beautiful Beach. Nice shopping center with variety of clothing options, shoes, cosmetics and many other items including international and local brands. Nice food court with decent options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A badly design shopping centre where the entrance is in the middle but you are forced to walk to the end to get escalators to upper floors. Those escalators then stop and you are forced to walk back to the middle to continue going up! Stupid design. There is also pavement outside the entrance forcing pedestrians to walk along the road. Crazy design. There is no pickup and drop point for taxis or Ubers.
The mall is also empty because it is new but it will get busier (Aug 2018). The mall is very soulless, even for a big shopping mall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice shopping center in Olinda, with lot of shops, restaurants and entertainment for all taste buds, including a supermarket. The minimum parking fee of R$ 9 (up to 4 hours stay) is unacceptable though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a very new and fun mall, with a great view to the sea and three floors. You will find different kind of options at the food court, like brazilian food, pizza, artesanal ice cream, japanese, Burger King, McDonalds etc. There is a movie theater that shows some english movies with subtitles and it costs very little on mondays (less than 4 dollars). There is also a very good gym you can use wilth a daypass and a bookstore with some english books. The mall has an Apple store, many clothing, cosmetics, shoes, house stuff, toys, and other stores. In general a nice place to spend some hours when you are really tired of the heat in Olinda. ☺
