Botequim do Hugo
Aninhado em meio ao burburinho empavonado que acomete o Itaim-Bibi, o bar de Hugo Cabral Filho preserva a simplicidade reservada aos autênticos botecos. No salão apinhado de cacarecos antigos, incluindo aí um berrante, rádios e uma coleção de pinguins de geladeira, o anfitrião conta com o reforço de sua irmã, Emiliana, para manter o negócio iniciado pelo avô. Não espere ser recebido com cardápio: pede-se tudo diretamente no balcão, olho no olho, como antigamente. Tem porção de tremoço e de azeitona (R$ 8,00 e R$ 9,00, respectivamente) e outros acepipes para fazer tabela às cervejas de garrafa Original e Serramalte (R$ 11,00 cada uma). O grande hit do lugar, porém, atende pelo nome de buraco quente (R$ 9,00). Ou seja, o sanduíche de pão francês recheado de carne moída bem temperada e que pode ser incrementado com gorgonzola ou queijo prato.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ É um botequim descolado, com pessoas descoladas, no coração do Itaim e que tem o melhor buraco quente do bairro. É sempre bom sentar-se à mesa e ouvir os "causos" contados pelos clientes que aparecem, com frequência, por aqui...cerveja sempre gelada. Nice uma simpatia.
 It's a cool bar, with cool people, in the heart of Itaim and has the best hot hole in the neighborhood. It is always good to sit at the table and listen to the "stories" told by customers who frequently appear here ... beer always cold. Nice friendliness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most unique bar experiences you can have in the world, let alone in Brazil or Sao Paulo. Literally the front of this family home you can rub elbows with the locals who have been coming here since the beginning. Don't expect any frills, parking or "drinques" just a few petiscos, cold beer and amazing memorabilia in this tiny storefront. Sometimes they move the family car from the driveway and you can sit outside but don't hold your breath. Well worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood but don't tell too many people about it ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Botequim do Hugo is one of the "pearls" of Itaim.
It's kind of old school bar, those from countryside, but in the middle of Itaim. The owner, Hugo, is there to pick your order and receive the payments.
This place is usually crowded and it's not so big, but it's REALLY worth, by the awesome and cheap simple sandwiches and pastéis they have.
Don't wait for a place with waiters. You come and order whatever you want at the main desk.
The place and atmosphere is really interesting with a lot of old things at the shelves, which probably you'll remember about your grandparents or parents or even your own childhood, or that aunt's house with all the ancient memoirs from your/someone's else family.
