★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Para ter sido fundado em 1859 o teatro apresenta uma estrutura incrivelmente conservada.
Foi o primeiro teatro do estado da paraíba. Parece bem pequeno, mas abriga 200 pessoas, um público considerável para uma cidade pequena.
 To have been founded in 1859 the theater has an incredibly conserved structure.
It was the first theater in the state of Paraiba. It looks pretty small, but it houses 200 people, a sizable audience for a small town.

Tem sua estrutura na maior parte em madeira de Cedro.
Ainda em funcionamento, grupos de teatro se apresentam sempre.
Para a visitação guiada, cobram os valores de 4 reais (inteira) e 2 reais (meia entrada).

One of the first theaters in Paraíba, dating back to 1859
Its structure is mostly in Cedar wood.
Still in operation, theater groups always perform.
For guided tours, they charge 4 reais (full) and 2 reais (half price).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fomos no dia 8/5/2022, e fomos muito mal recepcionados pelo funcionário que estava na recepção, vendendo ticket para entrada.
Ele estava mais preocupado em assistir o jogo do Botafogo x Flamengo num aparelho sobre sua mesa, do que atender um tipo de gente chamada "turista".
Não respondia nada que perguntamos e qdo perguntamos por onde começar a visita, ele disse por onde você quiser, sem nem mesmo olhar para nós.
Quando entramos, tinha um cara dentro do teatro que teoricamente estaria ali para falar do teatro, mas falou por menos de 1 minuto. De bermuda e chinelo, disse que faria uma "apresentação " para nós e antes que perguntassemos algo, se retirou para o camarim e voltou sem dar chances de falarmos que estávamos com pressa e o objetivo da visita era conhecer a história do teatro e não ver uma apresentação.
Lamentável
Por educação, eu e esposa, únicos visitantes naquele momento, ficamos ali aguardando "a apresentação".
O cara que vende ticket e o cara que se apresentou por conta própria, são muito despreparados para apresentar para o turista a bela história da Cidade de Areia.
Pesquisei tanto sobre a cidade, para termos essa infeliz experiência.
Poderíamos ter tido experiência melhor na cidade, anda bem que antes visitamos o Engenho Triunfo que mostrou como deve receber o turista com preparo e brilho nos olhos para mostrar o que tem de melhor.
We went on 5/8/2022, and we were very poorly received by the employee who was at the reception, selling entrance tickets.
He was more concerned with watching the game of Botafogo x Flamengo on a device on his table, than with a type of people called "tourists".
He didn't answer anything we asked and when we asked where to start the visit, he said wherever you want, without even looking at us.
When we entered, there was a guy inside the theater who would theoretically be there to talk about the theater, but he spoke for less than 1 minute. In shorts and flip-flops, he said he would make a "presentation" for us and before we asked anything, he retired to the dressing room and returned without giving us a chance to say that we were in a hurry and the purpose of the visit was to know the history of the theater and not see a presentation.
Unfortunate
Out of politeness, my wife and I, the only visitors at the time, stayed there waiting for "the presentation".
The guy who sells tickets and the guy who introduced himself, are very unprepared to present the beautiful history of the City of Areia to the tourist.
I did so much research on the city to have this unfortunate experience.
We could have had a better experience in the city, it's good that before we visited Engenho Triunfo, which showed how to receive tourists with preparation and sparkle in their eyes to show the best they have.
