★ ★ ★ ★ ★ O teatro é lindo! Me senti entrando na história de verdade já que é o primeiro teatro de Alagoas! Consegue ser histórico e muito aconchegante ao mesmo tempo! As poltronas são muito confortáveis e o ambiente é climatizado. Recomendo muito a visita!
 The theater is beautiful! I felt myself entering the real story since it is the first theater in Alagoas! It manages to be historic and very cozy at the same time! The seats are very comfortable and the atmosphere is air conditioned. I highly recommend the visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Sociedade Phyl’harmônica Sete de Setembro foi fundada em 16/08/1865, por MANOEL PEREIRA CARVALHO SOBRINHO (Português), a qual se tornou mais abrangente, incentivando a dança e o teatro. Isso sou se concretizou devido ao empenho de um homem bem sucedido e de fino gosto pela arte. O objetivo de CARVALHO SOBRINHO era incentivar a população da Cidade de Penedo e região, o gosto pela música.
Em 30 de setembro de 1877, após conhecer o trabalho que na época era realizado com grande sucesso, o Imperador D. PEDRO II, concedeu à Sociedade Phyl’harmônica Sete de Setembro, o título de IMPERIAL.
Graças ao grande esforço de MANOEL PEREIRA CARVALHO SOBRINHO, em 08/09/1878, foi implementada a pedra fundamental, dando início a construção do Theatro Sete de Setembro. O projeto (planta) foi traçado pelo Arquiteto Italiano LUÍS LUCARINY, o qual também foi responsável pela construção do Theatro Deodoro, em Maceió (AL).
Em 07/09/1884, o magnífico sobrado (Theatro) foi inaugurado com toda ostentação e o primeiro espetáculo exibido foi O Violino do Diabo, uma peça de grande sucesso. Naquele espaço, também aconteciam os festejos e bailes Carnavalescos, inclusive os magníficos desfiles a fantasias.
O monumento possui estilo Arquitetônico Neoclássico, apresenta planta própria da arquitetura Italiana, a fachada é encimada por 04 (quatro) estátuas de louça (provavelmente portuguesas), representando as Deusas da Música, da Poesia, da Pintura e da Dança. No frontão triangular foi aplicado o escudo da Imperial Sociedade Phyl’harmônica 7 de Setembro, possui um palco (Italiano) no formato de ferradura, de excelente acústica e tamanho 6×8 metros. Hoje, disponibiliza ao público, 353 lugares, é composto de auditório, camarotes, frisas, galerias (primeira, segunda e terceira) e o salão de público no centro.
O Theatro Sete de Setembro foi o primeiro a ser construído na Província (Estado) de Alagoas. Palco de grandes companhias europeias de teatro e centro de arte e cultura de toda a região.
No ano de 1888, pouco antes da promulgação da Lei Áurea, o Palco das Artes recebeu o ilustre QUINTINO BOCAIUVA (QUINTINO ANTÔNIO FERREIRA DE SOUZA – Jornalista, Senador (RJ) e Ministro das Relações Exteriores), o qual fez conferência abolicionista no local. Sem dúvida, o Theatro 7 de Setembro se constituiu no termômetro que marca a cultura dessa gente Oparina. Atualmente, é administrado pela Prefeitura Municipal de Penedo.

The Sociedade Phyl’harmônica Sete de Setembro was founded on 08/16/1865, by MANOEL PEREIRA CARVALHO SOBRINHO (Portuguese), which became more comprehensive, encouraging dance and theater. This is materialized due to the commitment of a successful man with a fine taste for art. The objective of CARVALHO SOBRINHO was to encourage the population of the city of Penedo and region, the taste for music.
On September 30, 1877, after knowing the work that was being carried out with great success at the time, the Emperor D. PEDRO II, granted the Phyl’harmônica Society Sete de Setembro, the title of IMPERIAL.
Thanks to the great effort of MANOEL PEREIRA CARVALHO SOBRINHO, on 08/09/1878, the cornerstone was laid, starting the construction of Theatro Sete de Setembro. The project (plan) was designed by the Italian architect LUÍS LUCARINY, who was also responsible for the construction of Theatro Deodoro, in Maceió (AL).
On 09/07/1884, the magnificent house (Theatro) was inaugurated with all the ostentation and the first show exhibited was O Violino do Diabo, a highly successful play. In that space, Carnival celebrations and balls also took place, including the magnificent costume parades.
The monument has a Neoclassical architectural style, has a plant typical of Italian architecture, the facade is topped by 04 (four) ceramic statues (probably Portuguese), representing the Goddesses of Music, Poetry, Painting and Dance. The shield of the Imperial Society Phyl’harmônica 7 de Setembro was applied to the triangular pediment, it has a stage (Italian) in the shape of a horseshoe, with excellent acoustics and a size of 6×8 meters. Today, it offers 353 seats to the public, it comprises an auditorium, boxes, friezes, galleries (first, second and third) and the public hall in the center.
Theatro Sete de Setembro was the first to be built in the Province (State) of Alagoas. Stage of major European theater companies and art and culture center from across the region.
In 1888, shortly before the enactment of the Lei Áurea, the Stage of Arts received the illustrious QUINTINO BOCAIUVA (QUINTINO ANTÔNIO FERREIRA DE SOUZA – Journalist, Senator (RJ) and Minister of Foreign Affairs), who gave an abolitionist conference there. Without a doubt, Theatro 7 de Setembro was the thermometer that marks the culture of these Oparina people. It is currently managed by the Municipality of Penedo.

Nossa visita aconteceu antes do isolamento.
Teatro construído pela Imperial Sociedade Filarmônica e inaugurado em 1884, foi o primeiro no estado de Alagoas. Estilo neoclássico e em formato de ferradura. Local que recebeu a visita de Dom Pedro II. São três andares, com camarotes, frisa, galerias e salão de público, com capacidade para acolher 410 pessoas. O terceiro andar, que possibilita menor visibilidade do palco, ainda alude à época em que os empregados ali ficavam, enquanto seus senhores apreciavam as peças e musicais. Das janelas superiores dá para se ter uma vista do burburinho do centro de Penedo. Visitação aberto ao publico a partir das 8hs da manha. Nossa visita foi acompanhada pelo Egon que conta com orgulho a história do teatro.
