★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was the best thing I did during my whole trip to Brazil. A lush rainforest with a semi difficult hike to the upper parts. You'll likely see monkeys and all sorts of wildlife on your way and there are parts that are difficult to pass.
Getting to the absolute top is difficult, I wouldn't recommend it (people die every year). Also be mindful that you are in Rio, the security at the for of the mountain will ask for your ID before signing in to enter the forest. It's free if course, it's just a security caution.
