★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The trek is easy, a little going up and then just walking, clear trail. The view from above is amazing, not just the waterfall but the entire valley. I started late and stayed there until everybody left to enjoy it all for myself. You can also have a bath in the stream before the waterfall. Many people using guides, not sure why...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fumaça is the apple of the eye of Chapada Diamantina. 40 minutes "climb" - it's a very steep uphill - plus a 1½ hours walk. The trail itself isn't as beautiful but when you reach the waterfall the view is stunning. Try and visit it the day after a rainy day. It's free entrance but a voluntary contribution is advised since it helps the brigade association. No guide is necessary cuz the trail is very clear.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must do! You can guide yourself on this hike. It will take you approximately 5 hours. You will check in at the ranger station and also need to check out. Suggest going earlier jn the day to beat the heat, or you must depart by 1pm in order to give yourself enough time to get back before the trail closes for the evening. A steep hike up for an hour, then flat for an hour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place and an amazing view! You don't have to pay to get in and you have the right to choose a guide person or not! That are 2 hours walking, so take at least 1.5 liters of water with you, something to eat, sunscreen, glasses, your swimsuit, and enjoy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning place! Very beautiful even with no water, as when we went.
The hike itself is very easy and the path obvious to find. Don't listen to the rude scare tactics of the guide at the beginning of the trail who wants to convince you that you absolutely need to pay them to take you for a stroll in the park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First 40 minutes are super steep and exposed to sun, so don't forget your hat and sunscreen and water. Then it's rather flat, however pay attention to fading arrows on the ground. those will help you find a way when it is not clear where to go. We went without a guide. Be aware that you can enter the trail only until 1PM, so you can come back before the sunset. The hike is around 4 hours, though we made it in around 3,15 hrs and then enjoyed the view.
In summer the river dries so there was only a little stream instead of a river and we haven't seen the waterfall but the views from the river bed(waterfall crest) are just mindblowing. So i totally recommend. And entry is for free!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ VERY Gorgeous place! You will never forget it! It is not easy to get on the top of the hill but it’s worthy!! It is two hours walk and climb ( very steep hill) to get on the top! You should get physically prepare to climb the hill. I am sharing the trail to get there and view from it.
