With 14km round trip, the Cachoeira do Sossego trail is considered difficult, with many obstacles and is the most difficult in Lençóis. The landscapes are beautiful and worth it, but it is good to be careful when jumping over the rocks, as they are high and slippery and on the trail there are poisonous snakes such as the jararaca. Upon arriving at the waterfall canyon, the walls are incredible! It is important to go with a guide.

The trail is not difficult, but it is long. It is recommended to go with a guide, not because of the complexity or risk of making a mistake, but because it is a waterfall that can have a waterspout. The final part of the trail is over the rocks in the river bed.
On the way back to Ribeirão do Meio, it's pretty cool too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In my personal opinion many blogs lack a real description of what is required - if you have fear of heights (even for 1 floor or 2) and/or did not bring a pair of good hiking shoes - please re think.
To prep for sossego, u need to be able to trek 7km of forest trails (won't be muddy if you during the summer) + riverbed full of giant rocks (some are slippery and sharp) - TWICE;
and go with a good pair of hiking shoes (important else a good sturdy pair of running shoes - though be prepared to throw away that running shoe thereafter the trip)
Folks with knee issues, or lack of training on legs - you can opt mid or low difficulty trail ( but that also means you WILL NOT SEE the sossego waterfalls because the above description is for the one n only trail to the falls).
In sumnary proceed with caution but otherwise enjoy the experience! Its definitely worth the.. training (one day boot camp!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an amazing place but be ready, the hike is difficult, it's not moderate or 2h as you can read in some reviews. It is 2h30 to 3h each way with a last hour very difficult. You need to be prudent with all the rocks. We did it without a guide but we wouldn't manage until the end if we didn't meet a guide on our way, the path is hard to find, in doubt, just stayed on the river rocks and be very careful. The waterfall is an amazing reward and swimming there is absolutely stunning, defnitely not an instagramer place which is great :) go early because the heat makes the hike even more difficult, i would recommend to leave at 7am to be the first one there at 10 am and then head back at 11am :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hike is amazing and cool, however we lost our way around 1,5 km before the waterfall. It was raining a lot before and the river level was pretty high and the map indicated we should cross the river but there was no option to do that, since the current was a bit too strong and there were no rocks to climb on/jump on. Also it started to rain and the rocks got quite slippery. There are also numerous misleading arrows on the way which made us go around in circles looking for a path. We had issues with our GPS so maybe that's why we ended up going back, however i would recommend having a map and well working GPS if you don't want to turn back.
