TERESINHA
No ano de 1979 o nosso pároco, Padre Batista, lançou um desafio para duas
pessoas engajadas da paróquia, perguntando se elas gostariam de trabalhar com os pobres. De imediato
as duas aceitaram e convidaram mais outras duas, formando uma pequena equipe assim constituída:
Maria da Conceição Damasceno, Josefa Oliveira, Elita Freire e Darcy Marques.
O trabalho inicial foi visitar todas as casas e formar pequenas comunidades.
Com esse tipo de atividade sentiu-se a necessidade de se comprar uma casa para a realização dos
encontros. A pequena casa pertencia à senhora Maria Coelho.
A idéia foi se agigantando e pensou-se então em construir uma pequena capela.
Logo foi iniciada a construção da mesma a custa de muito sacrifício e grandes dificuldades, mas Deus
providenciou tudo. Quando a capela ficou concluída a Sra. Eurídice doou um pequeno altar e o Sr. Pedro, já falecido, pai de uma das fundadoras, doou um estrado, para colocar sob o altar. Não
havia cadeiras, nem bancos.
No dia 24 de dezembro de 1980 foi celebrada uma missa e o Presidente da celebração,
Pe. Sérgio Cometti, um dos benfeitores da capela, aproveitou o ensejo para abençoar a capela e a
imagem de Santa Teresinha.
Durante todos esses anos essa iniciativa foi bastante positiva e, embora nem os
membros fundadores não mais se encontrem servindo diretamente na comunidade continuam a
colaborar de diversas formas.
HISTORY OF THE CAPTAIN SANTA
TERESINHA
In 1979, our parish priest, Father Batista, launched a challenge for two
people in the parish, asking if they would like to work with the poor. Immediately
the two accepted and invited two more, forming a small team so constituted:
Maria da Conceição Damasceno, Josefa Oliveira, Elita Freire and Darcy Marques.
The initial job was to visit all the houses and form small communities.
With this type of activity one felt the need to buy a house for the realization of the
meetings. The little house belonged to Mrs. Maria Coelho.
The idea grew larger and we thought of building a small chapel.
Soon the construction of the same was begun at the cost of much sacrifice and great difficulties, but God
arranged everything. When the chapel was completed, Mrs. Eurydice donated a small altar and Mr. Pedro, already deceased, father of one of the foundresses, donated a dais to put under the altar. Do not
there were chairs or benches.
On December 24, 1980, a Mass was celebrated and the President of the celebration,
Fr. Sérgio Cometti, one of the benefactors of the chapel, took the opportunity to bless the chapel and the
image of Santa Teresinha.
During all these years this initiative was very positive and, although the
founding members are no longer serving directly in the
collaborate in different ways.
