★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Os habitantes da vila de Jericoacoara assistiam às missas e novenas na capela de uma comunidade vizinha no início dos anos 60. Em 1963 os proprios moradores iniciaram à construção da igrejinha. Inaugurada no ano seguinte em 13 de dezembro, dia de Santa Luzia, padroeira do município. A data é comemorada todos os anos em grande festa que atrai milhares de visitantes. A construção muito simples foi erguida com pedras do Serrote pelos próprios moradores. De sua torre tem-se vista panorâmica da enseada. Linda. Amei. Recomendo.
The inhabitants of the village of Jericoacoara attended masses and novenas in the chapel of a neighboring community in the early 60's. In 1963 the locals themselves began to build the church. Inaugurated the following year on December 13, the day of Santa Luzia, patroness of the municipality. The date is celebrated every year in large party which attracts thousands of visitors. The very simple construction was erected with Serrote stones by the residents themselves. From its tower one has panoramic view of the cove. Linda. I loved it. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Não deixem de visitar a Igreja de Pedra, é um lugarzinho rústico, feito pelos próprios moradores, um lugar de paz e tranquilidade... Sem contar que é linda, perfeita, vale a pena conhecer, na nossa primeira estadia em Jeri não sabíamos da existência da Igreja, ficamos sabendo quando fomos embora, aí da segunda vez que fomos, a primeira parada foi na igreja e foi sensacional, dá pra ficar horas observando ela, é tão linda...
Don't forget to visit the Igreja de Pedra, it's a rustic little place, made by the residents themselves, a place of peace and tranquility... Not to mention that it's beautiful, perfect, worth visiting, in our first stay in Jeri, we didn't know about the existence of the Church, we found out when we left, then the second time we went, the first stop was at the church and it was sensational, you can spend hours watching it, it's so beautiful...
