★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historic bistro with great ambiance; central in the lives of every local I spoke with ("My grandparents got engaged here." "When I was elementary school age and visited my dad's office, he would take me here for lunch." Etc.)
But the food is not top notch. Everything we tried, from salads to main courses to desserts, were second rate.
Drop by for an espresso, enjoy the charm, but skip the food.

Cafeteria Colombo have this story with Rio!
Besides it, all the things you order to eat is delicious!
Love this antique place in the heart of the downtown! If you are in Rio, you should come and visit!
The prices is affordable for foreigners and a bit expensive for locals!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are in Rio, you must visit Confeitaria Colombo, you will probably face a huge queue but I’m sure you will not regret. The bolinho de bacalhau in Rio. We had few sweet pies and waffles (huge by the way) that was good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's crazy full of tourists but the staff is remarkably efficient in managing traffic and getting people in and out. The food was actually pretty good, and the room is so lovely I recommend going just to see the atmosphere. We had a great brownie sundae and some good sandwiches.

I think that the price is fair, since the food is very tasteful and well served.
The service could be better.
The architecture is beautiful and it’s very well preserved.

Service was quite good and very responsive.
The food came nicely setup on the plate and even comes with a cover to keep it warm until it reaches the table, which is why i was extra surprised that the food was not hot enough.
The milanesa tasted like it had been re-heated in a microwave. Cant say for sure it was, but really tasted and felt like that.
The “French” side dish was certainly not very french, and was not very tasty.
The risotto was also slightly warm, and even digged into the center and was also barely warm.
Portions are quite large. Neither of the plates were finished.
This is a shame as it leaves no space for dessert and tasting the really good looking cakes.
