★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walking around my new office area to try new lunch places, bumped into this traditional Portuguese bakery and restaurant dating back to 1860. Very tasteful and wide selection of salty and sweet pastries. In the back there is a traditional restaurant with at least 10 lunch dishes for 25-30 reais. Very good find. Also good place for tourists as an alternative for much bigger and nearby Colombo.

Very cozy and comfy with delicious pastries and a good service.
Although the price is a little above average for the area, it is still an amazing place for any kind of meal, from breakfasts to lunches and brunches!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You get the true decadent setting with still good confiterie in this place. I would go back everyday. Go for the room in the back and ask for the argolas douradas and the pastel de nata if you are into the portuguese style egg yolk and sugar based sweets. The coffee could improve and that's why it is a 4 and not a 5.
The most noble room is in the corner of the street. If it is too full turn left coming out, enter the first door and go to the end of the long corridor with all the pastries.
