Advindas da Fonderies du Val d’Osne (Fundição do Val d’Osne), mais precisamente de um de seus catálogos datados de 1876 tais estátuas são fruto do domínio da técnica de trabalho em ferro fundido para fins artísticos. Essa “arte em série” propiciava a reprodução de esculturas em larga escala e acabou por atrair artistas importantes da época. Entre eles Mathurin Moureau (1821-1912), autor da nossa Ceres, e AlbertErnest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887) que é o responsável pelas figuras do Comércio e da Justiça. Já a Minerva é uma cópia da Palas de Velletri, escultura que se encontra no museu do Louvre desde 1803 e que por sua vez remete a uma escultura do período helenístico. A Val d’Osne
exportou várias de suas obras para as cidades que estavam em processo
