In its surroundings there is a lot of garbage. I saw street sweepers on the boardwalk, but the beach garbage that accumulates on the stones of the dikes and on the sand next to the sculpture, there is no cleaning. Unfortunate!

Local bastante esquisito e afastado.
Very strange and remote place. It has everything to be a beautiful and good place to meditate or enjoy nature but, it leaves something to be desired because it is deserted and deserted. It also falls short in lighting. It is not recommended to stay long or spend unaccompanied.

It could improve the way to the image. And be careful with the cleanliness of the statue's surroundings. More is a good reference point for tours

This lovely statue was raised by members of a syncretic Afro-Brazilian religion that blends African traditions with Roman Catholicism, Spiritism, and Indigenous American beliefs, either Candomblé or Umbanda. She was originally a goddess in the Yoruba pantheon but in Brazil, she watches over sailors and fishermen and controls their catches. She is very powerful, and is concerned with every aspect of womanhood, fertility and family; she is also the protector of children. It's easy to bicycle to it. Google maps has no resemblance to the way the coast of Olinda looks now. Take a look at the photos people have posted and you can see the bicycle path which takes you close to the statue at the northern end of the city.
