★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My boyfriend and I had a very uncomfortable and stressful experience with the owners (Bell and Valdo) of this car rental company.
Aside from the fact that the car rental was reasonably priced, it was dirty when we first got it - full of sand and spiders but we overlooked this. Later we realised that the car was ill equipped when it got a flat tyre on the penultimate night. The tools that are usually where the spare tyre is was no where to be seen (see pictures). Fortunately we had full insurance on the car and managed to get someone to fix it the next morning. We lost some time with the car because of this and we were told by Bell on the phone that we could discuss this in person when returning the car back.
Upon return of the car we asked kindly whether we could have an extra day to make up for the lost time - or some sort of consideration - however Bell and Valdo took no responsibility for the ill equipped car, they even tried to blame Marcelo their assistant who sold us the car rental. They told us that it was our fault for bursting the tyre and there was nothing they could do on their side. The discussion turned aggressive when we tried to explain calmly that it was an accident and it was their responsibility to make sure the car was fully equipped. Valdo proceeded to show outrage and started to take his shoes off as if to attempt a fight with my boyfriend! This was extremely unprofessional.
We did everything we should have on our side and even filled the car up with petrol after the whole drama. We felt that we were not treated fairly, especially in a time when we should be more compassionate and sympathetic. If I could give 0 stars it would be that.
