★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Este lugar foi palco da resistência de Mossoró ao bando de Lampião. Até hoje os furos oriundos da troca de tiros com os cangaceiros estão marcados na parede e preservados para memória deste acontecimento.
This place was the scene of Mossoró's resistance to Lampião's gang. To this day, the holes resulting from the exchange of fire with the bandits are marked on the wall and preserved as a memory of this event.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A igreja de São Vicente é um dos maiores símbolos da resistência do povo mossoroense ao ataque do bando de Lampião em 13 de junho de 1927. Toda sua arquitetura barroca, bem como as marcas de tiros no alto de sua torre, disparados pelos cangaceiros, ainda permanecem preservados. Os heróis da resistência se posicionaram no alto dos imóveis da região e a igreja foi usada de forma estratégica. Através das janelas do sino da igreja atiravam contra o bando. Na ocasião foram alvejados 2 cangaceiros, sendo um deles (Jararaca) capturado e enterrado vivo dias depois.
Todo dia 13 de junho a cidade comemora a festividade "Chuva de Bala no País de Mossoró", um palco é montado em frente a igreja para recontar esse fato histórico da cidade.
The church of São Vicente is one of the greatest symbols of the resistance of the people of Mossoró to the attack by Lampião's gang on June 13, 1927. All its baroque architecture, as well as the marks of shots on the top of its tower, fired by the bandits, remain preserved. The heroes of the resistance positioned themselves on top of the buildings in the region and the church was used strategically. Through the church bell windows they were shooting at the gang. At the time, 2 outlaws were shot, one of them (Jararaca) being captured and buried alive days later.
Every June 13th, the city celebrates the festivity "Bullet Rain in the Country of Mossoró", a stage is set up in front of the church to recount this historical fact of the city.
