Breath taking place full of elegance, peace and culture! Not very easy access but it is worth a visit. There is a car park, taxi would not be too expensive or you can try walking from Jardim Botanico (more bus options) or even go cycling but there are hills on your way and hazards since drivers in in Rio are most reckless. The space offers: a visit to the house in itself which was built and designed by the wishes of the Banker Moreira Salles, exhibitions, mainly photograph but poetry too, cinema and the surrounding are very beautiful. They have a nice bookstore and a nice restaurant - be patient, service was very slow. And it is not cheap, this place is at the heart of the most expensive square metres of Rio!

Not so popular among tourists but a must-see if you are looking for some peace and quiet. There is a nice small café with some options for breakfast and lunch but service can be rather slow on crowded days and weekends. Don't miss the permanent exhibition with historical photos of the city.

Great free museum that is well organized and curated. Beautiful location to explore and sit at the cafe even if you aren't exploring the exhibits. My personal favorite in terms of museums in Rio.

A must-see in Rio! The house itself is worth a visit. Surrounded by Atlantic forest, this modernist gem—designed by Olavo Redig de Campos and Roberto Burle Marx—was home to one of the most prominent Brazilian families both economically and culturally. I really enjoyed the well-curated exhibits: "Conflitos" (a photo exhibit covering political violence in Brazil in 1889-1964), "O pipoqueiro da esquina" (with cartoons by Carlos Drummond de Andrade and Ziraldo), and "#RioUtópico" (with photos of the many utopically-named Rio neighborhoods). Admission is free.

Amazing mansion turned into an art gallery. I was particularly impressed with the choice of displaying Seydou Keita photography. This was a very interesting visit that turned into a relax in the cafe sorrounded by lush greenery and unique architecture.
