My advice is for everyone to go early (around 7AM) to skip both the lines at the trail as well as the sun (heat).
It is a great adventure and the trail is a moderate one with a steep inclination but easily done around 40 to 50 min depending on the amount of stops or phisycal condition.
We did have a surprise on the way down (if you might call it a surprise?) as we faced a couple of guys with Machine guns and also pistols but they told us to be cool and waived us off by saying to be calm (they were not cops by the way?) , but the impact of seeing that in front of you and not knowing what would happen makes those 5 to 8 seconds a bit tense.
Then there is the way down from the trail entrance to the entrance of the Vidigal, on Moto Taxi's which was probably the most adrenaline part of the entire thing.... ?. Once you do it you will understand!
If you have the chance... You should do it...
As said... Stunning lookout and scenery.
And you get both versions of Rio de Janeiro ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect view. Do not wear sandals as the climb is steep and rocky and tight in some places. Bring plenty of water and maybe a light snack. Check the area above to see if its cloudy, so you will get a great view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow!! What an adventure. Take the moto taxis up from the nearby favela on the coast for 5 reals. Hike to the top through the jungle. Enjoy the view. This is a gem of a place.
