★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Memorial to former Brazilian politician who served as president during two periods of time: from 1930 to 1945 as interim president, then constitutionally elected and finally as a dictator. He then served a second term, elected democratically, from 1951 to 1954 when he committed suicide. This memorial is both in honor to his memory and Rio de Janeiro's past. Chronologically arranged to tell Varga's story and the uprising (and foundation) of Rio de Janeiro. If you want to know a little more about our history, I advise to check this memorial out. It's free of charge and nicely structured. On Saturdays you can also visit the organic street market on Luiz de Camões square.
