★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here for a late lunch and had a great time, it’s a very lively restaurant with live music and plenty of people. You will have to pay a ‘cover’ charge for the music. The food was very good - we got the Feijoada, the beans were perfect! One of the best I’ve had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In the heart of Santa Teresa, this restaurant had amazing authentic Brazilian food and classic Brazilian caipirinha. The service was also fast and friendly. Highly recommend this place if your in the area!

Negative note, we had to pay for the live music service ?! Maybe in Rio it is normal, but it was the first time this happened to us!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped at Portella on our walk back from the Tram in Santa Teresa. The atmosphere, service and food was amazing! We had the Frango À Passarinho and the Picanha Grelhada with an ice cold Antarctica beer ? Saúde!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's supposed to be authentic food but given the crowds it's probably catering to the tourists - the price certainly feels that way. Decent food but nothing special. The main reason for going is its a stop on the tram line and probably one of the best along that route.
