★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of cheap shops. Some nice old buildings. Better dont take too many fotos - in general it is a rather dangerous area. I wouldnt recommend to walk around at night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ferreira's Square is a historical heritage located in the center of Fortaleza city. It is named with reference to the pharmacist Boticário Ferreira, a city councilor who reformed and urbanized this space in 1871. It was the scene of literary "Spiritual Bakery" in 1892. Until today this square is the "heart" of Fortaleza as a privileged meeting point of the capital and well known for its time column and a small garden surrounded by a lot of stores.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The unique place in our city. Always artist's performances in the square. You cannot leave Fortaleza without visiting this place. Be sure to visit the "Raimundo dos Queijos" which is a few blocks away. It has the best cheese in the region, as much as the service is not so exceptional. For those who look for a hammock there is a gentleman who sells his own hammocks that he produces in one of the corners of the square. There are several options of hammocks made with material that makes it light and practical. Avoid walking with a cell phone, that area is not so safe.
