★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very traditional Vila Madalena bar. Highlight are the appetizers and the ice cold chopp (draft beer). Best time to come is on Monday nights - not crowded and with live jazz music played by very good musicians.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot at Villa Madalena! You can sit there and listen the music from other bars while you have a conversation. Much better than other bars where the music is too loud. The food is also good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went on a Monday night and found some great live jazz music. The bar tender did an amazing job of looking up how to make a Hot Toddy for me that turned out perfect. One slight hiccup is we didn't know about the R$25/person cover to pay after for the live music. It was written on the chalkboard inside the restaurant which was a bit misleading as we knew nothing about the charge until we saw the bill. Musicians were wonderful though so we were happy to throw in some money. With that said, excellent spot for drinks and live music on a Monday night!

Waiter told me after 45 min of waiting that they didn't have the dish I ordered.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Sau Paulo! Every place I've been to is great, with really helpful staff that do their best to help the weird guy who can only speak English. This picturesque bar has great drinks and superb food. It's quiet enough to let you think, but loud enough for you to not feel alone. The walls are COVERED with football pictures, it really does seem like an old world bar. All tourists should definitely visit at least once. Have the Lamb in Black Beer!

Loved it!!! The suggestion from the stuff “Caipirinha de caju and maracujá” was really really good. (Of course ordered with “Pouco açúcar(it means with less sugar)“ as everywhere’s I do.)
Vinagrete com polvo is light and freshly. línguas de carne is kind of like a stew! Dip a bread that comes with it, so good!
