★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Restaurante Le Cordon Bleu.
Fantastic tasting menu. If the person has any dietary restrictions, he should alert the Chief. There is a kids option. The very fair price for the quality of the service. You can take the wine of preference which makes the cost even more affordable. It is necessary to make a reservation and it is better to go by taxi / Uber because it is very difficult to get a place near the place.

We went to dinner as a couple. Located right next to Shopping Rio Sul, at the end of Rua da Passare, on the corner. They have an external balcony and a very cozy and romantic interior room. Impeccable service from all staff and our waiter Jean. As a courtesy, the house offered a couvert with bread basket (delicious brioche) + butter and olive oil, as well as fresh oysters with cashew and pepper sauce, finger food (pasta with divine padano grana sauce) and petit four at the end of the meal . Limited drinks and wine list. Fixed tasting menu (they do not accept changing any of the dishes) with two options for starters and two options for the main course, served in smaller portions (ENTRY: CEVICHE PEIXE WHITE OF THE DAY, COCONUT, PURPLE ONION SLICES, CORIANDER, TOMATO SORBET AND CAMPARI / WHITE FISH GRAVLAX, SMOKED SALMON AND CITRUS FRUIT SERVED WITH VEGETABLES, PICKLES, GINGER, CONFIT AND RADISHES // MAIN DISH: WHITE FISH WITH PUPUNIA FRUIT MOUSSELINE HOUSE PIPE SAUCE AND PEPPER WHITE WINE SAUCE BONED AND PRESSED COOKED, WITH TRUFFED YAM PUREE, PORT WINE SAUCE, BROCCOLI, CARROT AND GLACEED ONIONS. / ARTISAN CHEESES / DESSERT: DECONSTRUCTED CHEESEKAKE IN CHEF FASHION / PETIT FOUR / Value of R$ 357.00 PER PERSON R$ 540.00 HARMONIZED MENU - 5 CUPS). As we found other more interesting options on the menu, we decided to opt for a la carte. We chose the steak tartar (R$ 79.00 - tasty and well served, but we've already eaten better, like Maska's and Chez Claude's - it lacked creaminess and chopped more evenly and smaller. Chips that accompanied were very tasty) and gravlax de fish with smoked salmon (R$ 59.00 - delicious, beautiful presentation, but not attention. Maybe if it came with more of the purple sauce that comes with it or some other sauce with fresh herbs, in addition to something more crunchy, it would be more interesting / complex the dish). For the main, we opted for the mignon rose and 2 textures of polenta served with a wine sauce (R$ 94.00 - we liked the dish, it's not very well served, but as we were already quite satisfied, it was enough - meat in the perfect spot, well-seasoned, served with delicious polenta and delicious sauce) and the pork belly with purple potato mousseline and spice sauce with cachaça (R$ 96.00 - very well served dish - I expected more from the meat, I really tasted the smoked , I missed the crunchier cone and the complexity of flavor - mousseline and yummy vegetables, yummy sauce, but overall the dish was not impressed, I wouldn't order it again). Although it is not on the à la carte menu, only on the tasting menu, we chose the wonderful deconstructed cheesecake (charged at R$ 44.00) for dessert, I recommend this dessert. Prices above the average of excellent restaurants around the city. Payment of service charge separately in cash or pix. Overall it was a good experience, but I expected a little more from the food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The world renowned Le Cordon Bleu cooking school offers world class courses in its Rio de Janeiro address. Along with the the school in Ottawa, Canada, it's one of the only two schools worldwide to offer a restaurant open to the public, where students can put their knowledge to trial. And the ones that profit from it are the restaurant customers. Such a great addition tonthe the Rio de Janeiro foodie scene!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a lovely evening at the Signatures restaurant. We tried several dishes expertly crafted by head chef Joao Paulo Frankenfeld and the rest of the team at Le Cordon Bleau. Everything was delicious but the foie gras stood out on a league of its own. For dessert, we splurged and ordered both the Amazon delight and the chocolate textures. Honestly can't pick between the two. If you want to try something new, go with the Amazon delight - it will not disappoint. If you like chocolate, the textures are a party in your mouth. We'll have to come back next time we're in Rio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is with a nice private setting but it's a shame that the food was not really up to the standard.
We had the shrimps tartare, fish of the day, and the duck.
The seafood dishes were not fresh. Especially for the fish, we just had one bite and returned the dish (the restaurant didn't charge us for that dish). The duck was okay but nothing significant.
However, we appreciate the attentiveness of the waiters. 2 stars are for them.
