It may be intimidating to somw but even the busy hours are manageable if you keep moving. All you need to know is basic Portuguese to read the labels and check out

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always very crowded and it's cash-only (including debit card / cielo pass), but always have a great variety of products and fresh fruits & veggies.
They run flash sales every days on various random products.
It closes early on Sundays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place has got potential but it is not well managed and the service could definitely be better. 90% of the long lines in the cashier (peak hour) was due to the staff being inefficient the remaining 10% was disrespectful customers. Better management and update procedures could certainly improve things. Plus, credit cards are not accepted.

Relatively good selection, although every product is industrial, full of pesticides and chemicals... just another supermarket.
Almost impossible to park a car, and a noisy man on the microphone keeps banging your ears with special discounts!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this Brazilian supermarket. They have everything and prices are fairly cheap. I love this particular Mundial's fruits and vegetables. They seem always fresh. Also, great range of beers for cheap as well. Parking space if you come in a car is not very good and this market is always crowded. Also, if in an emergency you need a restroom you will find here but they are very dirty. Other than that I like this Mundial. If you're in Rio, I'm a local guide here.
