Falar sobre Pão Italiano Basilicata é compartilhar a história da imigração italiana no Brasil, conhecer um pouco da Itália, de seus costumes, de como os imigrantes atravessaram o Atlântico e aprenderam a se adaptar à nova terra.
Desde sua origem, em 1914 no bairro do Bixiga, a Padaria Basilicata é um dos redutos onde a colônia italiana vem para se aproximar de suas raízes. Aqui encontram sensação de acolhimento e um perfume de casa italiana, vindo principalmente de seu tradicional e famoso pão italiano.
Felipe Ponzio, nascido no Sul da Itália na região da Basilicata, trouxe para o Brasil a receita de um pão que se tornaria o mais famoso da cidade: Pão Italiano Basilicata.
Mais de cem anos se passaram, mas a mágica receita continua a ser repetida com os ingredientes que construíram o maior nome em tradição e qualidade no pão italiano.
Em 2017 a Padaria Basilicata deu mais um passo adiante e reabriu as portas no novo espaço intitulado Basilicata - Pão, Empório e Restaurante.

The clams were pretty tiny but it was still a delicious lunch and the Tiramisu was very boozy and one of the best I’ve had. I don’t even bother with the other Italians on the street as I find them pretty poor, but this place is way above the others and definitely worth a visit. The shop attached to it also looks fantastic. Service was very prompt and efficient.

Lots of options of cheeses, sauces, antepestos, breads, wines, condiments for cooking and desserts.
There's a coffee area and a restaurant!
Fresh made pasta also available and very high quality of day to day kitchen itens that makes cooking at home a chef like experience!
Prices can be very high but over all you'll find some affordable itens.
Good staff and family owned business.
Very worth a visit if you haven't been there yet!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traditional restaurant with a special touch of original taste. The carbonara spaghetti has high egg flavor which is amazing combined with crispy bacon. I really suggest to try the panacota desert with limoncello, you won't regret!!
