★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Atualmente, a medicina oncológica não oferece quaisquer garantias quanto ao tratamento aplicado, além da previsão dos possíveis efeitos colaterais. O Paciente recebe o tratamento, é fato, porém não existe um serviço de suporte imediato a esses mesmos efeitos colaterais, não há uma clínica de dor disponível. O Acompanhante não tem como avaliar quando é o momento de recorrer a uma internação e dessa forma a chance de sobrevida do paciente fica muito comprometida.
Currently, oncology medicine does not offer any guarantees regarding the treatment applied, other than the prediction of possible side effects. The patient receives treatment, it is a fact, but there is no immediate support service for these same side effects, there is no pain clinic available. The Companion has no way of assessing when it is time to resort to hospitalization and thus the patient's chance of survival is greatly compromised.
