I am just grateful to the East Coast team for providing me with this experience. Everything was properly planned and expectations were exceeded. Of the agencies I looked for, the East Coast was the one that gave us the most support, clarity and the most fair price. Everything worked out from beginning to end! I am also grateful to Bargado, our native guide who allowed us to pass through fascinating natural beauties, introduced us to the local fauna and flora, respected our walk and shared stories that only a native can tell us! Gratitude!! Trekking in Lençois Maranhenses in May 2017 (Lagoons super full and magnificent, with practically untouchable dunes)

Conclusion.
I will try to make a comment as constructive as possible. We are a couple of 30 years old, normally sporty and we chose a 3 day trek. We ended up only both with the guide. No other tourist. The team was charming, Cleyton, who received us at the hostel before departure, speaks very good English, unfortunately we left with a guide who only spoke Portuguese. This sometimes had limits in explaining what we could see or understand. But he was always attentive to us and our needs (break, warmth, desire to enjoy). I wish I could have talked more with him. They were very careful the first day, breakfast in Barreirinhas, niquel. The days break down as follows, 4 to 5 hours max of walking in the morning, then arriving at the local host, dropping off nap meals and strolling around the host's house. Small negative point, the hammock is marked on their site, but if you have never experienced it, beware, it will not be your best nights. With our first host, we slept alone in an open building next to the house. To this, we had the right to add a terrible night storm, bringing, cold, rain through the roof, and the little pigs who came to shelter with us ? At the hosts, it is necessary to count the meal, 60 reals per person and per meal except breakfast, and each bottle of water is 10 reals. The second family was wonderful, super welcoming, smiling, in the exchange and the pleasure of pleasing and the meals were cheaper than in the first for a higher quality. Many thanks to you once again. Plus they have lots of parrots! The landscapes that you will see are iddylic but a bit recurrent. Conclusion. If I had to visit the park again, I would do it over 2 days and 1 night, perhaps with a mix of walking and another source of mobility, 4x4, quad, motorbike. If you are looking for self-transcendence, 3 days of walking under the sun is very good ?

Amazing experience! I recommend trekking to everyone! Live unforgettable moments! The East Coast is a very structured company, I received a lot of attention and recommendations for tours, inns and restaurants. Kaline was great, no words to thank her! And not to mention the guide Raimundão, a super high spirits person, who provided us with the best trekking!

Very easy communication by email with the agency before our trip and they were also very flexible when we said that we needed to be back earlier than scheluded, they even arranged our trip back to sao Luis! A special "thank you so much" to antonio our guide! We did not speak portuguese but we managed to communicate easily thanks to his patience!

Clayton is a great guide with English skills who knows and loves the area. Personally I advise to go for a hike and stay in the area for a while. Visit Lençois Maranheses during a full moon for night hikes. (I heard it’s amazing.) Go as a small group and the tour will be very affordable. Hiking is less touristic than going by car. You can do night swimming with plankton in a specific area: ask for that, it’s so cool. The pousada choices in the desert on the sea are affordable and sweet. Breakfast is included, dinner is not (40 to 50 reais for perfect sea food). Things to improve: - More up-front Information. You do not hike through dunes endlessly. You do pass villages and vegetation and walk on “roads” which feels a lot less natural and you won’t find the unique and infamous environment of Lençois there. I would have preferred to know this before going, especially because I went on a private tour.
