★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have rented Hertz cars worldwide and also from Localiza most of my trips to Brazil where my family lives. My Hertz member number is 65833397.
I hadn't experienced any problems with them until my last hiring in Porto Seguro BA, Brazil: I hired a car from Hertz for 5 days under contract number PSGA097673. I used the car most to get from and to airport, running a total of approximately 50km (30 miles).
During drop-off Hertz employee inspecting car return dishonestly pointed to a crack in the windshield. I refused to sign off acceptance for the damage. All then ended fine.
However, I will think twice on hiring a car from Hertz again. I would suggest Hertz re-brief both Porto Seguro management and clerks on customer service relationship.
Meanwhile, be aware of Hertz Porto Seguro Brazil branch.
