Inaugurado em 2004 junto com a revitalização do Mercadão, quando foi construído o mezanino, o bar Mortadela Brasil tem um cardápio recheado de sanduíches e pastéis que harmonizam bem com aquele chopinho bem tirado, uma caipirinha de frutas ou então um suco natural.
Entre os destaques estão os tradicionais sanduíches de mortadela em suas 26 variações, todas conhecidas por sua qualidade e também pela generosa quantidade de recheio. Para todos, há duas opções de pães de 80 gramas – baguete com parmesão e pão francês.
Claro que gosto não se discute, mas é sempre uma boa dica ouvir a sugestão dos garçons, do gerente ou mesmo dos sócios, os irmãos José Maurício e José Carlos Freitas, que estão “sempre” presentes na casa, que foi uma das primeiras do Mercadão a trabalhar com exclusividade com a mortadela Marba.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Coming to this Mercado Municipal Paulistano market was a definite nice surprise. I was recommended not to forage into any eateries on the main floor, but rather to go upstairs for food. There are two stores that had exceptionally more diners, and Mortadela Brasil was one of them. And I was not disappointed at all. I tried their signature sandwich, Mortadela Brasil for 24.00 BRL, and complemented with the papaya and orange mixed juice. The baguette was crispy and airy, and very easy to chew. The enormous stack of mortadela bologna was amazingly delicious and warm to the taste. It was like symphony to the mouth. Not being a big eater myself, I found eating half the sandwich by myself should have been just sufficient. Be sure to share if you don't eat a lot. The juice was very fresh and flavorful. I totally recommend coming to this market, and especially to Mortadela Brasil!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is the portion enough? Yes, huge. All sandwiches are for 2 people, all are served to table in 2 pieces. But Carne Seca which is the only one made with beef is not delicious. There is lots of tasteless meat in it. Better try something with cheese.
