★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Modern Airport with State of the Art vending machine, ATM's, small shops and restaurant inside... Their parking lot is an outdoors parking lot with covers for where vehicle. I was very impressed with how smoothly logistics at this airport operate/runs. Two thumbs up!!

Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) must look small compared to other airports, but it doesn't lack comfort and it's very modern.
It's very well localized and easy to be reached by car or the metro, it's very close to the town Center and South Zone.
Travellers passing by will find tons of amenities inside like exchange house, restaurants areas, drugstores, clothing stores, toys & gift shops, coffee shops and even a pretty convenient hotel.
It has a small, cozy shopping mall in an adjacent attached area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lathan airlines is a mess. Long lines. Confusion.. take extra time. Signboard are few and far between.
I don't know why they have group boarding as you take a bus to plan and then all run at once for it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Santos Dumont Airport is well located in the Rios Center. The Airport Hosts different facilities, Shops, Restaurants and also the Brazilian Policia Federal. Its very easy to get there and inside it is Safe. At night you should avoid to be outside of the nearby park area in the direction Marina da Gloria. During heavy rains it is possible that you get redirected to the International Airport GIG. Be aware about this tiny detail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow so easy to get to Lapa from the airport. I walked 20 minutes to my hotel. The views for take off and landing are exceptional. Flight out was at 12:30PM and security only took 2 minutes as they had 10 or more security stations open and mostly only had 1 person in line.

The landings are the best, you literally feel like landing on the ocean haha. The views are insane with the Sugarloaf mountain and the Niteroi bridge in the background. ❤️
I really liked the airport overall. It's a small airport with mostly Gol, Azul and Latam flights. 30 mins drive from the international GIG airport.
