★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Moradora há 50 anos do Rio de janeiro nunca tinha entrado no mosteiro. Fiquei maravilhada. Que lindo pedaço do Barroco brasileiro bem no centro do Rio. Vale a visita. Aberto somente as terças e sextas feiras. O museu de arte sacra é imperdível. A igreja do museu está toda recuperada. Lindíssimo em todos os aspectos. Vale a visita.
 A resident of Rio de Janeiro for 50 years, she had never entered the monastery. I was amazed. What a beautiful piece of Brazilian Baroque right in the center of Rio. Worth the visit. Open only on Tuesdays and Fridays. The sacred art museum is a must. The museum's church is completely restored. Gorgeous in every way. Worth the visit.

Destaco la serie de imágenes que retratan el edificio en diferentes épocas, es fabuloso ver como fue cambiando todo el entorno.
One of the few colonial vestiges of Rio de Janeiro. It is worth the visit for the architecture of the building, its beautiful church and historical objects of interest. I highlight the series of images that portray the building at different times, it is fabulous to see how the whole environment changed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Além de sua arquitetura e detalhes, ainda têm uma bela vista do alto aonde está localizada, somente o museu sacro que fica do lado da igreja têm cobrança para visitação ao seu interior.
Não abre final de semana ao público.

In addition to its architecture and details, it still has a beautiful view from the top where it is located, only the sacred museum that is next to the church has a charge for visiting its interior.
It is not open on weekends to the public.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the oldest convents of Rio de Janeiro, founded in 1608. Located in the largo da Carioca, and right beside it there is the church of St. Francis of penitence.
The convent olso has one of the largest colection of mangers in all of Brasil, which the exibit in the month of December.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At first glance, this place doesn't look extremely "exciting". I was even surprised I had to pay $2 to check out their museum... and holy cow am I glad I checked it out!!!! This place is low-key magical. The gold room is a spectacle to behold, and this is a must see if you are visiting Rio!!! I did not expect to love it so much, but I did! The building is old and FYI their bathrooms don't have toilet paper, but you cannot miss seeing this beautiful sight!
