A primeira Academia Smart Fit inaugurou em 2009, em São Paulo (Morumbi), logo seguida por mais academias na Capital Paulista, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília e Porto Alegre. No mesmo ano, o Grupo contratou o Instituto Gallup para realizar medições e implementar métricas de satisfação de clientes, ouvidoria e engajamento de funcionários. Foi a primeira rede de academias de ginástica do mundo a contratar este tipo de serviço
Nos primeiros cinco anos de operação, a Smart Fit elevou a receita do Grupo Bio Ritmo de R$ 40 milhões para R$ 420 milhões, aumentando em oito vezes a quantidade de clientes, de 70 mil para 580 mil alunos.
O segredo? Atender a enorme demanda reprimida no país.
Houve quem perguntasse se as Smart Fit iriam “roubar” clientes das próprias Bio Ritmo. Nunca foi uma preocupação de Edgard Corona, que sempre afirmou que se fosse perder clientes, que fosse para ele mesmo.
E houve, também, quem duvidasse tanto que perguntavam se R$ 49,00 era por dia de treino, por exemplo. Não havia nada sequer parecido com a Smart Fit no Brasil. Ela quebrou padrões e mexeu com o mercado de academias.
Mas para dar certo, este modelo de negócio (baixo custo/alta qualidade) precisava de um componente fundamental: capilaridade, ou seja, mais e mais academias em todo o país. Para isso foi foi fechada uma parceria em 2010 com o fundo de investimentos Pátria , para um aporte inicial de R$ 70 milhões

Also, buying a pass or a plan implies a long and crazily complicated procedure to get... a fingerprint recognition. If you ever make it to communicate with the staff, they won’t be able to lend you a lock, so bring your own.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great daily rate of 20 Rs, which is new for this chain. They used to do only monthly for local users.
However, from early afternoon until close this gym is FULL.
As in very long waits for machines and equipment where there are already a few waiting.
I’ll be looking for a different gym that is much less crowded.
There is no WiFi available here as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This gym is excellent. and very popular. For the English, you're in Brazil so don't expect anyone to speak English. The daily pass system like all Brazilian administration is initially complex, so expect it. You will need your passport number and a credit/debit card (no cash transactions) I speak a little Portuguese and found the receptionists very helpful.
