★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All in Portuguese and you have to cross a terrible neighborhood full of addicts, literally smoking crack on the stopped in front of the building. This needs be made more accessible for tourists, the history is too important to have obscured in this way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Political and modern history museum is great for tourist savy with live Google translate. Bring your backup battery charger and go in the prison cells. Modern art exhibitions not for kids. This is adult content. Drug addicts hassling pedestrians at either end of the block so walk fast.
