★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice hike. The trail goes up through the jungle to the top of the two brothers mountain. Very nice trail, with some beautiful viewpoints over Rio. Need some good shoes as it gets slippery in some points. But it's quit short so anyone can do it. Really recommend.

DO NOT PAY 5 REALS TO THE MAN GUARDING THE ENTRANCE.
He is simply extorting tourists for what is a free trail. If he will not let you pass, go up or down and tell a police officer. They will get you past this man. Do not pay him as it enables him to extort more tourists. There is no entry fee here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best, cheapest and most authentic mirante in Rio. From the metro station in Leblon it is an easy and safe walk along the coast and past the Sheraton hotel to the entrance to Vidigal. There lots of mototáxi await you to bring you to the football court at the uppermost part, where the trail starts. The bike costs 5, and the entrance to the trail 5 again. The trail is safe, on the way you have the opportunity to buy drinks and coconuts. I went quite early during a weekday and had the viewpoint almost to myself.

I recommend doing a sunrise hike. What a beautiful trail even at night. Bring warm
Clothes for this.
Safety is not an issue. The locals there don’t harm the tourists.
Can do without a guide.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful trail and awesome views. I had an excellent guide, Allessandra of @hikeinrio. Small group. Started at 6am. Took a motorcycle taxi through the favela to the entrance of the trail. Hiked to the top. It was totally worth it!
