★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid this place if you are an American or don't speak Portuguese. The waitstaff are rude and the food is bad and expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible place, the service was atrocious, the owner clearly could not care. I went to pay and the beer I had cost $R 6 but he would not give me change from a $R 10 note, he just kept it.
Avoid!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a find! We were coming back from parque das ruínas and found this hidden gem!
I order a goulash that was Devine! My wife is Hungarian and the goulash was very similar to the Hungarian porkolt (a goulash stew). Prices were fair and the chopp was perfect! Strongly recommend and will surely go back once we visit Rio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was overcooked. The sausage was tough, dry, and burned. The cauliflower was like mush (it was not mashed, just soggier than I ever seen the poor vegetable) and so bland it was actually... gross. Lentils were overcooked but somewhat edible... is the best I can say about any dish here. They have Paulaner, but no good German beers (and there are so many!) It's just bewildering that a place like this wouldn't have a good German beer selection. Even the service was bad. Sadly, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A classic. The most traditional place in Santa Tereza for good food and draft beer. Really excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The German Cake absolutely makes the meal at this place! Fantastically delicious and savory. The pork shoulder with potatoes was pretty good, while the draft Brahma beer went down smooth. Friendly service and moderate pricing, and with that chocolate cake cake to finish made for a great experience. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in front of a very nice wall graffiti of Santa Teresa, the restaurant is small but great. They have delicious German food. My girlfriend and I enjoyed their beef sausage (500g of it!!!).
