I was amazingly happy with the treatment offered me! The security people took only a few minutes to double check my appointment and after it was done, everything ran smoothly!

Everything copasetic. All of the Brazilian staff working in the Consulate was really kind and attentive. The Consular Officer I was interviewed by was cordial and professional, as they always are.

In and out.. during these covid times, long as you have an appt.. pretty quick service. Don't forget that you cannot being any devices with batteries including cell phones on premise. Leave them at one of the stores offering lockers (Guarda volumes) across the street.

I'am really desapointed with the embassy site where i alredy many times to take any apointment betwen a hole year and every time they show the same messege saying " Invalid entry, invalid data entered, Please go back and retry." These it is just making me frustraring because the only thing i really need to do it is to renew my passport to go back home. I'am really tired of it.

Theives. They deny 90% of the people who apply for a VISA. You pay certain fees (aka parcel fee to return passport) - but you don't even know ahead of time if you will get the VISA. THEIVES. They judge you and don't ask for any proof of support. That's how they decide who to give the VISA to. Good luck.

When you call they give you about 20 different menu options none of which applied to me. I tried to get in touch with an operator and I could not. I tried connecting with someone by selecting several of the menu options to get directed to the correct place, but no one answers their phone. I tried emailing them and they gave me a generic email back saying go to the website. However, the website doesn't give me the information I'm looking for. I take an hour Uber ride to the consulate to get help, but when I arrive it looks like a prison with a bunch of security guards that don't speak English. I never got within a hundred feet of someone who can speak English because they won't let you through without an appointment. There were several other Americans there in the same exact position as me. Virtually everyone going in was Brazilian. The consulate is mainly there to serve Brazilians and not US citizens hence why it's almost impossible for a US citizen to figure out what to do if you don't speak Portuguese fluently.
